Prince Harry was christened Henry Charles Albert David and was born on September 15 1984 to Prince Charles and Princess Dianna. Born at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London he is the second son in his family and the younger brother to Prince William. Prince Henry of Wales is his official title and he is the fourth grandson to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Harry is the third in line to the throne of England. Prince Harry resides in the United Kingdom but is also the third in line to rule sixteen independent countries in the Commonwealth.

It was the wish of his late mother Princess Diana of Wales that her children receive a broad range of worldly experiences. She took them to Disney World, McDonalds and to visit children in AIDS clinics and to shelters for the homeless. It was her hope to ensure that they would be a part of the world not just observers. After Prince Harrys’ parents divorced the children spent a great deal of their time with their parents. Diana died in a car crash in France in 1997. Prince Charles and the two boys were at Balmoral Castle when the accident occurred. Prince Harry was a part of the funeral walking behind his mothers’ coffin with his father, brother paternal grandfather and maternal uncle.

Prince Harry was educated at various private schools around the United Kingdom and spent his gap year in Australia. Instead of attending university Prince Harry decided to go into military service. Prince Harry was commissioned into the Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Regiment as a second lieutenant. He was able to serve briefly with his brother before completing his training as a tank commander. Prince Harry served in Afghanistan War on the front line for seventy seven days. He was taken from action after an American website revealed his presence in Afghanistan.
